6 months ago I decided to start this blog. I thank the people who made it possible that we had 22,000 visits, representing more than 100 daily, a success for an amateur like me. When we meet 100 days, I have did an analysis of this experience (see post). We won’t do it now.

XXX
Only I leave you with a list of areas that have been most successful during this time.

XXX

Thank you again and happy 2011  !!!

As I said a few days ago a small group of photographers aware of the beauty and fragility of our planet, decided to promote the initiative called Focus On Planet in order of sharing photos, experiences and enthusiasm for photography.

XXX

When I considered taking part in this initiative I looked at the photos of other participants and found that most of them were photographers specializing in nature. You all know that I do not do this specialty, so I considered what could I add?

XXX

I have analized all my files and I chose those photos with a touch more anthropological, that could be aligned with the objective of this initiative. In this post I show you my selection.

XXX

In october 2010 begins of the project Focus on Planet. A small group of photographers aware of the beauty and fragility of our planet, decided to promote this initiative of sharing photos, experiences and enthusiasm for photography.

XXX

In recent weeks, the group has been growing and have added new members to the community. Since yesterday I am part of this community (Jordi Cohen at Focus on Planet), which is close to reaching 50 members.

XXX
Hope you like the initiative.

From the portfolio Gallery Nit de Patum, a project undertaken without forethought a night this year 2010 with some friends.  I hope to continue this in 2011.

My first visit to Port-Au-Prince was in 2006. Probably the most picturesque site in the city is the Marché de Fer, always lively, where vendors are mostly women. It is one of the few buildings that survived the earthquake earlier this year.

XXX

It is said that President Hippolyte Florvil (9 October 1889 to 24 March 1896) bought it, there are more than a century, a French manufacturer who intended it to Turkey.

XXX

Today, the Marché de Fer literally overflowing population busy and noisy. Step over thepile of items spread across a feat. Lamps, bird cages, kitchen utensils or children’s toys cut from tin cans, sandals cut from old tires catch the eye. Nothing is wastedhere.

XXX

But the Iron Market is full of treasures: the naive paintings, dishes, mahogany wood carvings called ”Mahogany”, famous sculptures carved in metal drums, baskets, hatsand all kinds of items handicrafts.

XXX

This Iron Market is also the focal point of the tap-taps (see Vivre le Tap-Tap Gallery on Porfolio). These famous tap-taps! shiny,noisy, rolling rhythm of zouks latest in fashion.

XXX

On my first trip upstairs was inhabited by a family that was dedicated to sewing. On my second trip in 2008, the top floor had become a place where illegal gambling is practiced.
