It happens every year in Pamplona and 4 years ago I began to  take pictures there. It is without doubt one of the great global concentrations Party (comparable to the Rio Carnival and Oktoberfest in Munich). More than 1 million people were given appointment for a week in a city of just 200,000. It all starts on July 6 at 12 noon with the famous Txupinazo. From that moment it sparks a kind of fit of collective madness and  it begins the general chaos and collective binge will last until July 14 the same.

This photograph was taken one hour later than txupinazo began. The temperature had already risen  and the alcohol levels was raging in the streets. Many peole are placed under the balconies in search of a refreshing shower, which is supplied by the residents of the place from their balconies. I lingered a while to shoot the picture, the truth is that in these years I’ve done a lot of shots and little to convince me, possibly because the Capa Principle and my obsession with being very close to the subject. I went with my 16-35mm, a fact that made some photographers were complaining that I get too close and sometimes they gourd (some even told me “buy a Tele!”). Apart from the principal boy of the photo, I noticed the background, with a wig style Jakson Five. ”

Technical considerations may have been others, there is much water and it goes very fast, always shooting with aperture priority, but for the curious and nurse about these things, the picture was taken in raw with a Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, ISO 500, f 5.6 speed 1 / 2500, flash and 35mm focal length. He was subsequently processed with Photoshop.

Sucede todos los años en Pamplona y desde hace 4 años me ha dado por tirar fotos. Es sin duda alguna unos de los grandes concentraciones mundiales de Fiesta (comparable con el Carnaval de Rio y Oktoberfest de Munich). Más de 1 millón de personas se da cita durante una semana entera en una ciudad de apenas 200.000 habitantes. Todo empieza el 6 de julio a las 12 del mediodía con el famoso Txupinazo. A partir de ese momento se desata una especie de ataque de locura colectiva, toda la ciudad da un vuelco en un instante, empieza el desmadre general y una borrachera colectiva que se extenderá hasta el mismo 14 de julio.

Esta fotografía fue tomada una hora más tarde de que empezara en txupinazo. La temperatura ya había subido mucho y el alcohol ya hacía estragos en la calle. Muchos chicos se ponen debajo de los balcones en busca de una ducha refrescante, que es suministrada por los vecinos de lugar desde sus balcones. Me entretuve un rato para tirar la foto, la verdad es que en estos años he hecho muchas tomas y pocas me convencen, posiblemente por el lema de Capa y mi obsesión por estar muy cerca de la toma . Iba con mi 16-35mm, hecho que hizo algunos fotógrafos se quejaban de que me pusiera excesivamente cerca y algunas veces les tapara (alguno llegó a decirme “cómprate un Tele!”). Aparte del chico de primer plano de la foto, me llamó la atención el del fondo, con peluca estilo “Jakson Five”.

Las consideraciones técnicas podrían haber sido otras, hay mucha agua y todo va muy rápido, siempre tiro con prioridad de apertura, pero para los curiosos y amamantes de estas cosas, la foto fue tomada en formato raw con una Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, a ISO 500, f 5,6 velocidad 1/2500, sin flash y distancia focal 35mm. Posteriormente fue procesada con Photoshop.
